In West Michigan, the winter season can be harsh and some people in the community cannot afford to warm their homes. In an effort to help, Team 85 participates in the Community Action Agency's Walk for Warmth, an event to raise awareness for those in the community that are unable to afford proper heating. The money that is donated from the walk remains in the area to help local families in need to pay for their heating bills.
As contributors to Walk for Warmth, Team 85 raised approximately $1,500 out of the $20,000 total. Team 85 as well as other donators walked through Downtown Zeeland starting and ending at City on the Hill; for a total of two miles. We recieved doughnuts and coffee from Zeeland Bakery. Team 85 enjoyed the opportunity to give back to the community.
